No libraries to close in Swansea…


A quick update… Firstly, since July the FoPL shop has raised £17,000 – thanks to our team of committed volunteers and generous donations from the community.

Secondly, Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea Council, has seemingly announced that no libraries will close in Swansea: “Mr Stewart told the Post that no libraries would be closed following a review of the service, but that opening hours might change. A report is due in the coming weeks.”

As yet, it’s not clear what this will mean for Pennard Library – but at least it would appear that a library service should be continued, based on what Mr Stewart has reportedly stated.
